Qu’est-ce que le NTP ?
Le Network Time Protocol (NTP) est un protocole utilisé pour synchroniser précisément, via un réseau informatique, l’horloge locale d’ordinateurs à partir d’une référence d’heure. Il garantit une synchronisation et un horodatage fiable et précis de tous les équipements IP connectés au réseau.
Qu’est-ce que le PTP ?
Le Precision Time Protocol (PTP) est un protocole réseau utilisé pour synchroniser avec précision un client (PTP slave) avec un serveur (PTP Grandmaster). Sa précision est de l’ordre de la microseconde. Le PTP est encore plus précis que le NTP. Il est fortement recommandé pour les applications du transport, de la défense, de l’industrie et des télécommunications.
Pourquoi est-il nécessaire d’avoir votre propre serveur de temps plutôt que d’utiliser un serveur disponible sur Internet ?
Votre serveur de temps vous permettra de synchroniser vos équipements sur le réseau informatique de manière précise, fiable et sécurisée. Vous ne dépendrez pas d’une connexion internet qui peut s’interrompre à tout moment.
